I love podcasts.  I have been listening to them ever since I got my IPod two years ago.  It gives me control over what I listen to while driving.  They are informative and very entertaining.

For those who don’t know, a podcast is a regular MP3 download that can be subscribed to either by an RSS feed or on a media player like ITunes.  Often they are radio shows that you can listen to at your leisure, but many are only available as a podcast.  Here is a decent description of how to download podcasts.

Here are my favorites:

Medical Podcasts?  I have found some, like the Annals of Internal Medicine podcast and Contemporary Pediatrics, but I seem to use podcasts more as an escape than a learning tool.

I would be fascinated to see what ones my readers listen to.

  • I subscribe to a lot of podcasts on iTunes, including medical ones like NEJM, JAMA, Annal of Int Med, NIH, etc. But the ones that I don't miss are the NPR Wait Wait Don't Tell Me News Quiz and the TED Talk video casts which are updated every week. Apart from the NPR Science Friday, I found The Guardian's Science Weekly podcast to be informative.

Of course, I also subscribe to the Dr. Anonymous Show on iTunes.
