I am holding a contest on my Facebook page to come up with a haiku about healthcare. I honestly don’t care what it’s about as long as it is clever (including llamas does not give you an advantage, though).
Head on over there and give me your best haiku! You know what is at stake here…

Oh good… I’m glad it’s not restricted to health care reform anymore.. I don’t even understand what’s going on enough to write a haiku about it.
here is my haiku, inspired by being in the ironic position of being a family physician without health insurance, 6 hours away from the canadian border. i call it, “we’ll always have calgon”.*
can’t afford health care.
and can’t move to canada.
situation: cold.
*naturally, ascendia brands, makers of calgon bath products, filed bankruptcy last year. http://www.njbiz.com/article.asp?aid=75440
i apologize for posting the haiku here! i misunderstood the directions. delete! delete! as dr. bronner always said.
I don’t have a Facebook page (and have no idea how to interact with one) but I thought I could still be clever enough to come up with a haiku or two about healthcare anyway. And I’m not up for the coveted award because I already have one…but I love a challenge! So here are two, hopefully for your amusement:
(1) I’m just a coder
Giving providers headaches
But not on purpose
(2) In the hospital
I’ve seen both perspectives
Patient and coder
Stop the wastefulness
While jobs lost not an issue
Feds might hire one more
*Yawn* Been there, done that.
Didn’t I win this last year?
(Thanks for the llama.)
Another coder who can’t use Facebook
Slogging through the fluff
Battle for best DRG
Code the chicken scratch
Thanks, it’s been fun reading the other Haikus
-Jen.
WORK for the Llama?
No one ever told me THAT.
Thinking of haiku
Stop the wastfulness
While jobs lost are impending
Feds might hire one more
I don’t know Rob…I’m lost without the llama insert.
Smiling politicos promise ,
The Grim Reaper cares
Not.
