E

I would like you all to meet my daughter, E. E is the 2nd of 4 children and is in middle school. Since she was very small, she has been extremely creative. We are always intrigued by her choice of words. She is one of those people who wants to find exactly the ‘right word.’ Often it is a word that most adults don’t use or even know.

Here are some facts about E (I am a proud dad - is it obvious??):E

  • She is presently very interested in Manga - the Japanese version of comic books.
  • She has started teaching herself Japanese online.
  • She is singing in the all-state choir in a few weeks
  • She is also quite a good artist
  • We cannot keep enough books in the house for her to read. We often find her staying up past her bedtime reading. She just loses track.
  • If I suggest a book for her to read, she will definitely not read it.
  • She never wants to ‘lose’ a fight, so she will go toe-to-toe with her dad (I have no idea where she got that).

So, I thought it would be nice to have her become a contributor to this blog. She and I decided on Little Debbie as her Gravitar (since I am Twinkie the kid).

She is also quite distractible, so should fit right in.

Welcome

Welcome to my blog. I am a practicing primary care physician in the Southeastern US, caring for patients of all ages (Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics). This blog covers a wide variety of issues, including the following: What it is like to be a physician, dogs driving cars, what troubles are in our system, toddlers with flame-throwers, what would it take to fix that system, llamas, death and dying issues, mutants, and accordions. Maybe I need to write about mutant dying accordions with flame-throwers. Hmmm....I feel a post coming. Anyhow, I like variety. Life is always lived with both laughter and tears. If you are a regular reader of this blog, it is also filled with nausea and nightmares. Thanks for stopping by. -Dr. Rob
